Beginner Fly Fishing Package

We invite you to discover the joy and excitement of fly fishing. The best way to learn the art of fly fishing is with a competent, patient and enthusiastic instructor. Whether you fancy yourself a budding fly rod angler or somebody you know (gift certificates available) has an interest, we can help get you off on the right foot!

Reel Mammoth Adventures prides itself on teaching beginners the fundamentals.  Learning a solid foundation of the basics will facilitate aspiring anglers to competence in a short order of time. 

This Half-Day 5-hour clinic is for anglers with little or no fly fishing experience. Our day will begin with a casting clinic at the local park where we cover the basics of casting a fly rod - learning the Over Head-Cast and the Roll-Cast. We will also conduct an important exercise that teaches how to land a hooked fish with a fly rod. Following these exercises, we hit the water to cover: How to rig up a fly rod, fly fishing knots, aquatic entomology (bugs & fly selection) and of course... hooking and releasing fish un-harmed.

The rates for our Beginner Package include ALL YOUR FISHING GEAR: Rods & reels, waders & boots, flies etc.

Anglers 16 years and older need to carry a CA Fresh Water Fishing License. These can be acquired ahead of time, or at our local fly shop.

CANCELLATIONS We have a 14-day cancellation policy. If you cancel your trip outside 14 days from the trip date, we will refund your deposit. Inside of 14 days, any cancellation is at the sole discretion of the guide only. We have a 30-day cancellation on multi-guide or multi-day trips. Inclement weather is beyond my control and does not constitute cancellation of a trip. Booking a fishing trip confirms that the cancellation policy is accepted.
