Private Waters
Hot Creek Ranch
Hot Creek Ranch is situated on a 300 acre parcel of land. It boasts a beautiful stretch of private water meandering through tall grasses and wildflower punctuated meadows. The ranch features nine comfortable cabins that will accommodate up to three guests. The banks of Hot Creek are directly out the front door and the shaded decks on all the cabins are a welcome reprieve after a great day of fishing Hot Creek. To uphold the finest of angling experiences, the ranch requires anglers to fish dry flies only.
I guide Hot Creek Ranch by referral of Kevin Peterson, the ranch manager, or my personal clients that book a cabin on the ranch. All fishing clients must reserve a cabin on the property. Feel free to email me for more information or visit the Hot Creek Ranch website.
I encourage you to look into this fine fishing ranch and discover the deep traditions of spring creek angling. Whether you are a seasoned dry fly aficionado, or simply looking to experience quiet tranquility apart from the hustle of the Town of Mammoth; Hot Creek Ranch is a place held unaccountable from the conventions of time.
The Arcularius Ranch
The legendary Arcularius Ranch is located on the spring creek waters of the Upper Owens River. The ranch encompasses over 5 miles of private water. This spring creek is one of the best in the state if not the country and is world renown. This fishing ranch is no longer open to the public. However, I guide fly fishers on this private water when hired by the family that owns the ranch.
Alpers Ranch
The Alpers Ranch is located the picturesque Long Valley, just upstream from the Arcularius Ranch, along the banks of the Upper Owens River. It is directly below the headwaters at Big Springs. The ranch offers a private stretch of classic spring creek water that is renowned for harboring big rainbows, browns and the occasional cutthroat.
The ranch has been owned by the Alpers family since 1906. Tim and Pam Alpers manage a popular trophy trout pond, the fishing ranch and legendary “Alpers Trout” farm. This is where the famous “Alpers trout” grow big and strong under the caring tutelage of Tim Alpers.
Access to fishing the ranch portion of the Upper Owens River comes with booking one of the cabins on the property. Float tube fishing the trophy trout pond can be booked by guests without staying on the ranch.
I primarily guide guests who have booked a cabin and intend to fish the river. For more information contact me or call the ranch at 760-648-7334.
